Welcome to the Mood Research Lab!

The Mood Research Lab (Breaking Sad) is located in the Department of Psychology at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. Inspired by the hit television series, Breaking Bad, we decided to unofficially name our lab Breaking Sad -- after all, that is what we are trying to do by investigating the etiology, treatment, and prevention of depression.

Dr. Dozois

Our team is headed by Dr. David Dozois, who is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Western University. He is also the Director of Clinical Training in the Clinical Psychology Program, and cross-appointed with the Department of Psychiatry.

Research in our lab focuses on risk factors for depression involving core beliefs, cognitive schemas, and interpersonal functioning, and how these can be targeted effectively through evidence-based treatments and preventative interventions.
